Meet the Team
Dr. Kara Pulsfus
Dr. Kara Pulsfus grew up in Dixon, IL. Having struggled with bad eyes as a child, she developed an interest in optometry at an early age. She received a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry from Bradley University in Peoria, IL. She then earned her Doctor of Optometry degree from The Ohio State University College of Optometry, where she was also named valedictorian of her class.
After working in both retail and ophthalmology practices, Dr. Pulsfus opened Bright Eyes Family Vision in 2015. It is her mission to create an unforgettable experience for each patient by providing unparalleled customer service, exceptional patient education, superior product quality and the best eye health care possible. She also feels it is important to provide care to underpriveleged people world wide and has partnered with Optometry Giving Sight to donate to the I Care and Share program for each pair of glasses purchased.
Dr. Pulsfus is a member of the Illinois Optometric Association. In her spare time, she enjoys reading and knitting. She also enjoys providing eye care to under-served populations through mission trips
Kathryn is our friendly patient care coordinator at Bright Eyes Family Vision. She has several years of experience in optical, billing, and customer service. She loves to get on a personal level with patients to determine their individual needs. Kathryn thrives by helping patients find a style of frame that they love and a lens that will best suit their lifestyle. She is also skilled at maximizing insurance benefits to ensure you receive the best quality and value.
Jessica was raised in the Kane County area and graduated from Elgin Community College with a medical focus. She is excited to expand her career in the optical industry learning about the latest technology as it evolves. She loves getting to know patients on a personal level and making their visits here at Bright Eyes Family Vision go as smoothly as possible.
Outside of the office, Jessica enjoys spending time with her boys and keeping them active. She is an avid Cubs fan and enjoys going to games at Wrigley Field and other ballparks when able to.
Lisa is joining our office with almost 20 years of optical experience and is excited to be working with Dr. Pulsfus again. Her knowledge ranges from contacts to fitting glasses to navigating insurances to help patients best utilize their benefits. Lisa enjoys working closely with patients in all aspects of their visits and helping them find the best options to fit their individual vision needs. She looks forward to meeting you at your next visit.
When she is not in the office, she is enjoying her time with her daughters, husband, dogs, and cats. She loves cooking and going for hikes and walks with her family.
